Putting combos on your TV menu: a practical guide

A combo is easier to read on a TV menu than a list of add-ons. MenuScreen Growth includes Combos & Upsells for exactly this.

Set up a combo

Combos have their own list in the MenuScreen admin. Each combo can have a photo and an active/hide toggle, so you can prepare a weekend combo in advance and switch it on when you need it. You can reorder them too.

Give combos their own screen time

The TV display has three modes:

  • Feature: a spotlight rotation of items you’ve flagged “feature on TV”
  • Board: your full menu in columns
  • Combos: combos only

You can move between modes with prev/next or lock the display to one mode. On Growth you can run up to 3 displays, so you could keep one screen in Board mode and another in Combos mode.

Add detail that helps people decide

Every item can carry a heat level, a badge/tag, dietary tags, a “served with” sauce and pieces-per-order. These show on the display, so customers can answer their own questions before they reach the window.

Use the ticker for the offer

The optional scrolling ticker on the TV display is a good place for a short line about your current combo.
